Welcome to the latest Electric December, Watershed’s original end of year online showcase of creative talent. Immerse yourself in 24 highly original short films from across Europe, where you might land in an underwater bubble, discover secret twins, hug a tree, listen to the philosophical musings of lego men or meet the prime minister.
Young people from across Bristol, including students from Fairfield High School, have helped shape this year’s Electric December as part of Fresh Flix (1 Nov – 1 Dec at Watershed), a fantastic programme of films, music, workshops and events for children and young people.
Having received over 100 entries from 10 countries, we have selected 24 mini masterpieces for you to watch and enjoy on this site. It’s an inspired, diverse selection of short films – animation, live action and experimental – all featured here and available for you to unwrap throughout December!
The students at Fairfield High School have been a really important part in helping to create Electric December ’10 – getting stuck in to the development, design and judging for the calendar. They’ve created a page where you can read about the work they’ve been doing in preparation for this year's Electric December and see their photos – so dip in and read all about it.
Established in 1999, Electric December sought to facilitate partnerships between local community and education groups in Bristol and professional media companies to produce new pieces of creative work for the web. You can see the past eleven years of Electric December offerings in the archive section of this site.
The last eleven years of Electric December are still available to view in the archive.
