The ABC Challenge (UK)

By Heaton Manor School and Marden High School
After being challenged to a BSL sign-off by the arrogant “cool” kid at school, an unfashionable hero seeks the help of a sign language guru and embarks on a gruelling training regime to challenge her nemesis!

About Heaton Manor School and Marden High School
The idea for The ABC Challenge came from thinking about ‘spelling bees’ and coming up with a BSL equivalent. The film was made as part of a First Light project that aimed to engage young deaf filmmakers in Newcastle upon Tyne, and was facilitated by Beacon Hill Arts. It was made by 13 to 17 year olds.
