If it wasn't for John Coltrane, the world might never have discovered Bristol-based tenor and soprano saxophonist, Andy Sheppard. For it was only after hearing Coltrane's music that Sheppard, then 19, bought his first sax.
Within three weeks, he'd begun a career as a performer/composer which now brings him international acclaim and awards. His discography includes work with Carla Blay, John Martyn and Baaba Mal as well his own combos. His current album is 'Learning To Wave' (Provocateur); 'Dancing Man and Woman' comes out Spring 2000.
