It's a new day in December but I can't see a new box.

  • Electric December is unusual in the way it is always changing. If you have this problem, you will need to refresh your browser by pressing F5 [on a PC] or Command-R [on a Mac] while the calendar screen is visible.
  • If this still doesn't work, you may need to change your Internet Settings and then shut down your browser and start again. You should make your browser check to see if pages have changed every time you start a new session. For example: In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Settings and click on 'Settings...' in the Temporary Internet files section of 'General'. Set 'Check for newer versions of stored pages' to 'Every visit to the page' or 'Every time you restart Internet Explorer'.
I can't see anything when I try to open a box on the calendar.

  • Don't forget that the boxes can only be opened on or after each day of December. So for example on day eleven, there will only be eleven boxes that you can open - you'll have to wait for the next ones day-by-day:
  • After Day 5 many of the windows use dynamic extra features that you may not be able to see without downloading some small, additional bits of 'plug-in' software. Check that you have these plug-ins. The best way to do this is to close this window now and type www.electricdecember.org back into the address bar on your browser, then select "What's it all about" and read the information on "Some extra bits and pieces you'll need".
The window is open but nothing seems to be happening.

  • Be patient, some of the boxes will take a little while to download.
  • Most of the windows rely on you moving your mouse about - roll, click, point, click again and just keep on exploring. Each time you come back to Electric December try the boxes again, there may be something you haven't discovered...
